Ever wonder why your headlights seem to make it even harder to see in the rain or snow?

Well, researchers are in the process of developing "smart headlights" that prevent this from happening by anticipating the movement and velocity of the drops or flakes and shining into the spaces between them!

How cool is that?!

Hyundai Hope On Wheels announces 5K run/walk series to benefit pediatric cancer

Hyundai_hope_on_wheels

/PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Hope On Wheels® today announced a 2012 5K Run/Walk Series that will travel to three U.S. cities, in a continued effort to raise awareness and research funds for pediatric cancer. After a successful inaugural 5K event in Orange County last year, Hope On Wheels will return to Southern California to launch its 5K series in Irvine, followed by visits to Chicago and Miami as part of its ongoing efforts around National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September. Net proceeds from the Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K Run/Walk Series will benefit pediatric cancer research programs at local children's hospitals in each of the three cities.

"As an avid runner myself, I am thrilled to roll out our annual 5K Run/Walk series to support the Hope On Wheels mission of finding a cure for childhood cancer," said John Krafcik, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. "Cancer claims the lives of far too many young children and impacts far too many families. We look forward to extending our work with our Hyundai dealers as well as our race partner organizations to host and sponsor 5Ks across the nation to further fund research and help end this disease."

Race participants of the Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K Run/Walk Series can become a part of Team Hyundai Hope On Wheels and join the fight against pediatric cancer by registering online and making a pledge to benefit their local hospital. After registering, both race participants and those wishing simply to contribute to the cause can jump-start their donations by pledging one of six levels.  For more information about the Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K Run/Walk Series, including registration and pledge details, please visit www.HyundaiRun4Hope.org.

The Hyundai Hope On Wheels 5K at the Chicago Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 9. September 29, 2012 – Miami, FL: Hyundai Hope On Wheels 2nd Annual MCH5K

Individuals and teams are invited to participate and fundraise to support the children and families at Miami Children's Hospital, which will be the recipient of all net proceeds from this race. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraising teams.

"Every 36 minutes a child in the U.S. is diagnosed with cancer. Through research, 80 percent of those cases can be cured, but that's just not good enough," said Gary Micallef, Chairman, Hyundai Hope On Wheels Foundation and dealer-owner of Hyundai of Everett, in Everett, WA. "As a father and grandfather myself, I can think of no better way for Hope On Wheels to further its efforts in the fight against pediatric cancer than by joining together and running for hope.

Dr. Morris Kletzel, Director of the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Laurie Children's Hospital of Chicago said, "We are so pleased to have the support of the Hyundai Hope On Wheels program at our institution.  Hyundai and its dealers are doing more than just talking about the importance of pediatric cancer, they are making a difference with funding that is desperately needed in research."

"Husband and I went to AutoMax just to ""look at the 2013 Elantras. Was met by the "new kid on the block" Spencer Austin. He was such a nice guy and by the time we left there we were the owner of an Elantra. Spencer was an excellent salesman and help us get a great deal. Be sure and ask for Spencer if you visit AutoMax. I know I will if I ever need another car." -Nana & Papa

We would like to thank our customers for taking the time to share their feedback!

"I didn't want to get another car just yet, but it was time. Chris Ososanya was the right salesman for me, he didn't try to pressure me into anything and asked me what I was looking for. I purchased the second car I drove and am loving it. I wasn't looking for all the bells and whistles, but my 08 Sonata has them and it was in my price range with payments I can afford. Thanks Chris and Auto Max!" -Karpet

2012 Hyundau Veloster named one of the “10 Coolest New Cars under $18,000”

COSTA MESA, Calif., June 20, 2012 – The 2012 Hyundai Veloster has been named one of the “10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000” by Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com. Editors of the trusted new- and used-car information resource applauded the three door coupe for its innovative technology and unique styling.

“Packed with a unique brand of versatility, innovative technology and left-field styling, the Hyundai Veloster challenges the status quo to a duel,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com. “The 3-door Veloster – one on the driver’s side, two on the other – is among the most distinctive cars available at any price.”

Two criteria, fun-to-drive and fun-to-own, are critical among the deciding factors of what the kbb.com editors freely admit is a very subjective “cool factor.” Each vehicle on the list is available for purchase at $18,000 or less, using Kelley Blue Book’s exclusive Fair Purchase Price as the yardstick. Kelley Blue Book’s Fair Purchase Price is the price consumers typically pay for a car, based on actual new-vehicle transactions and updated weekly for changing market conditions.

“We’re honored that kbb.com is recognizing the Veloster as one of the coolest new cars under $18,000,” said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “The Veloster offers great fuel economy, iconic design and advanced technology features all at an affordable price. It was definitely created with the cool factor in mind.”

As one of Hyundai’s first models to achieve 40 MPG, the Veloster delivers the functionality of a hatchback but style and sporty design of a coupe. The Veloster also features Hyundai’s Blue Link® telematics system and Pandora® internet radio with seven-inch touch-screen display.

Hey fans, here is a Monday car care tip:

Rotate tires every 6,000 miles to prevent uneven wear, replace them when they become worn and have the alignment checked if the car pulls to either side when driving or if you notice uneven tire wear. This way your tires will be running smoothly at all times!

Thank you for the kind words, fans!
